Wow! Life Changing! Last week I was at The Omega Institute for Camp Reboot 2014 and it was more than anyone could hope for whether you were a newbie, a returning camper or even Team Reboot staff. This year I was honored to be returning to Omega as a Reboot Wellness Coach, while last year I was a camper/veteran juicer there with a few of my coaching clients. Thrilled to be back, I had the perspective of two years to reflect on. As a result, below is a list of my favorite ‘ahhhhs’ from this year – my take away gems – my mantras to share with clients and live by. Enjoy. Be GLAD!
The Omega Institute Reminded Me That
-
Everyday should include peaceful, meditative moments. -
Nature, simplicity and routine provide tranquility at no cost. -
When you have a spare moment – do something for yourself.
What Campers Showed Me
-
We are all the same –- vulnerable, cautious, loving, driven, scared -- so meet each person you meet as if you are meeting yourself, your best friend. -
The world is filled with a lot of joy and knowledge ready to be shared; be ready to receive it. -
Every single person has a meaningful story that bears their soul, slow down to hear it - it probably has relevance for you too.
What the Program & Speakers Taught Me
-
Make it easy and keep it simple. “Eat more plants,” is just one example of the many simple messages and approaches to health that Joe, Stacy and other speakers shared. -
Small changes will lead to big results when they are the right changes. The common theme, the thread throughout all talks, was to make meaningful small changes. -
Love what you do! With each new expert and speaker it was clear that loving what you do is the ultimate energizer for healthy life.
What I Learned Working With the Other Wellness Coaches
-
We are all unique and uniquely talented, embrace/share your own specialness and open up to what others can teach you. -
Coming together, collaborating is natural and helps us all be better – we are better together than apart. -
Once you make a friend, that person will always be your friend.
What My Group Showed Me
-
Everyone is looking for ‘real’ people to share their journey. -
Allowing vulnerability let’s you open up to major growth. -
Listening is a powerful healing act that is good for both speaker and listener. -
Reflecting can take us where we are not comfortable but perhaps it is necessary. -
We are ALL caring, crazy, curious, generous, joyful, at a junction, light, leisurely, laughing, silly, rock (solid), and wacky! -
We are in “IT” together (if you choose); you/we are never alone.
