Juicing is everywhere on the news, on the web, all over Facebook, and many people are hopping on the trend for quick weight loss or that post holiday cleanse, but don’t really know ‘why’ juicing is so good for you let alone ‘how’ to juice effectively. Let’s try to quickly give you the most pertinent reasons why juice is good for you without all the associated hype.
Juicing offers these key benefits:
-
1.Supercharges your nutritional intake:
-
a)Unlocks an abundance of vitamins, enzymes, phytonutrients and minerals that are held in the fiber of the plants.
-
b)Absorption of these vitamins, enzymes, phytonutrients and minerals is greater than eating them and is fast because the insoluble fiber is removed.
-
c)Increases the number of servings of vegetables and fruit taken in because the bulk (insoluble fiber) is removed; much more than eating or with smoothies.
-
2.Eases digestion & reallocates energy:
-
a)Digestion gets a break while still maintaining the highest levels on nutritional input.
-
b)When energy is not used on digestion, that energy goes towards the body’s other functions - cleansing, healing and living.
-
c)Ramps up your energy level, improves sleep and clears your mind; when your body starts getting cleaner and healthier, everything else becomes easier.
-
3.Forms new habits:
-
a)You begin to develop new plant-centric eating habits.
-
4.Gives you near superhuman powers (or so it seems)!
NOTE: When I discuss juicing it is only relating to freshly prepared vegetable and fruit juices, not pasteurized commercial juices. Pasteurization, the process of heating to kill bacteria, also kills the living enzymes although vitamins remain intact.
